Faith Community Nurse Network is currently seeking qualified candidates to fille the role of Director of Education / Lead Educator.
Job Title: Director of Nursing Education / Lead Educator
FLSA Classification: Hourly or Contract Available
Compensation: $36- $39 / hour
Availability: Schedule determined by employee. Average 8 hours/week, during Foundations Course - this would be higher, other times of year, it may be lower.

Position Summary
The Director of Education provides leadership for the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course and contributes to other Continuing Education Programs as necessary. Consults with Education Coordinator as a resource as that position manages symposiums and educational resources. Maintains updated knowledge regarding faith community nursing.
Primary Responsibilities:
A. Course Development, Implementation and Evaluation
1. Leads Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course (offered twice a year with 38.0 Continuing Education Hours in each course). Must be present for all modules.
2. Chooses and coordinates dates and schedules for courses.
3. Recruits qualified faculty, provides resources and feedback as they develop and present courses.
4. Using the Westberg curriculum, adapts the modules to needs of students, updating information as needed.
5. Develops curriculum, teaching methods and materials for the courses taught by the Director of Education. (12 of 16 modules in Foundations Course and entire FCN Refresher and Health Promoter)
6. Completes application for ANCC approval for Foundations course and assures course meets requirements for continuing education.
7. Oversees recruitment of students, communicating with office about new registrations and needs.
8. Works with FCNN Office Staff to create marketing materials and guides marketing efforts.
9. Provides project management leadership working closely with Executive Director to coordinate all aspects of courses.
10. Communicates with potential students to answer questions and encourage attendance.
11. Works with Executive Director to administer scholarship program for qualifying students.
12. Develops evaluation tools for each course and completes evaluation report for ANCC and Education committee and faculty. Makes changes to courses based on evaluation results.
13. Oversees online learning portal revisions and updates.
14. Communicates frequently with students prior to and during course to mentor and answer questions.
15. Continues contact with students post-course to mentor them in their practices.
16. Participates in Westberg International Nursing Educator meetings and updates (at least quarterly.) Provides input on curriculum, teaching methods, updates.
17. Keeps records of student attendance and reports to FCNN Board annually.
B. Assists FCNN with special projects such as designing webinars, as needed.
C. Networks with and Mentors FCNs
1. Answer phone calls and emails from FCNs re: practice dilemmas, resources, FCN ministry programming.
2. Plan and lead FCN Coordinator meetings quarterly.
3. Consults with FCNN team re: FCN practice and resources for FCNs and FCNN web site.
4. Completes Westberg Educator courses and updates as required.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s Degree in nursing, adult education, or relevant area.
- (Master’s Degree required to be an Educator of the Foundations Course and apply for ANCC certifications.)
- Completion of Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course within last 5 years OR has taken the Foundations Refresher Course offered by FCNN.
- Experience as a practicing Faith Community Nurse for at least 2 years;
- At least 5 years of experience in instructional design; curriculum development, teaching, management and leadership.
- Completes Westberg Educator courses and updates as required (can be after hire).
