Services to help nurses and organizations expand wellness programming
FCNN is available to support you in any way we can to expand your wellness ministry or programs. Please see the services and programs below that we offer.
Reach and Teach Programs
We currently have created three evidence-informed 1-hr presentations that RNs can utilize to provide health promotion programming within their community. RNs are required to view a recording about the materials before their first presentation so that they know how to utilize the materials.
RNs can also join our Speaker Bureau to help meet the needs of community organizations who are looking for presenters!
Evidence-Based Programs
FCNN is one of the largest providers of Evidence-Based Programs in the state of Minnesota. We support six evidence-based programs that focus on falls prevention, getting fit, and empowering caregivers.
FCNN has Master Trainers in three of the six programs we offer - this means that we are able to train new leaders in A Matter of Balance, Stepping On, and Powerful Tools for Caregivers. We offer trainings in A Matter of Balance and Stepping On at least once a year OR on a case by case basis if an organization has at least 8 individuals that they would like to have trained.
Wellness Planning Events
An organization is invited to schedule a Wellness Planning (or Screening) event with us to learn more about their community needs. These events allow individuals 65+ to discover what's next for them in their wellness journey through a 45 minute to 1-hour conversation where they walk thru their body metrics, vitals, lifestyle, participate in a number of different assessments, discuss wellness programs, health to-dos, and their overall wellness.
Host sites promote within their own community and are responsible for finding a minimum of 8 participants, in most cases. The maximum number of appointments is currently 24 per event. Event dates are subject to the clinical rotation day at the University of Minnesota's School of Nursing.
Helpful Resources
This page on our website will be changing as we continue to add resources that our staff as well as the community and YOU submit resources.
Resources include organizations, books, websites, etc.
Mentoring
We are able to help organizations and individuals with navigating the faith community nursing landscape. Availability for in-depth mentoring or consulting is subject to change based on capacity - regardless we are able to make referrals of who you may speak with.
Supporting you in your mission helps us meet our mission of advancing faith community nursing by providing a whole-person approach to individual and population health.
