Carol Oldowski serves Nativity of Mary Church in Bloomington as its parish nurse. Her career in mental health and public health includes work for the City of Bloomington as a home care nurse, child specialist, emergency response team member, and employee assistance program coordinator. She has also worked as a home care nurse coordinator, clinical specialist for a psychiatric clinic, and a volunteer therapist/supervisor for a walk-in mental health clinic in Minneapolis. Oldowski belongs to the South Metro Parish Nurse Network Group and the Archdiocesan Parish Nurse Ministry Association, and she has been an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Xavier University in Chicago and a master’s degree in psychological and clinical counseling from St. Mary’s University in Winona, MN. Oldowski is also a certified clinical nurse specialist in adult mental health and maintains a private psychotherapy practice. She took the parish nurse preparation course from Concordia College.
