Mission, Vision & Goals

Mission
The Mission of the Faith Community Nurse Network is to champion faith community nursing in Twin Cities metropolitan area in these five areas:

  • Education
  • Networking
  • Resource & Program Development
  • Contributions to Research
  • Leadership

Our efforts are focused on building and sustaining effective faith community nursing programs in congregations of all faith traditions and, in this way, bridging the gaps
between the faith and health communities.

Goals
FCNN’s has several ongoing and planned projects. The board has chosen the following goals to carry out the mission of the organization:

  • Conduct a survey of metro area faith community nurses to identify their employment status, education, services, and program needs
  • Partner with hospitals and health systems to create links between faith community nurses and care coordinators or chaplains.
  • Offer continuing education seminars for congregational nurses and other interested professionals
  • Develop an interactive web site that will be resource for nurses, congregations, and the community
  • Financially support faith community nursing programs to help reach low-income clients
  • Encourage and participate in research to build up the scientific basis of faith community nursing practice
